Pickups have always been one of the most popular vehicle segments amongst Americans. Today’s modern technology has allowed today’s truck to have all the features and benefits of the family sedan along with the power and towing capacity to get the job done if the need ever arises.
Understandably pickup trucks are not cheap. If you’re in the market for a new truck and are working with a budget of $30,000 or less, you’ll have plenty of upgraded choices in the smaller compact truck segment, but you’ll be limited to only a few choices within the full-size truck market.
Autobytel looked at the pickup truck vehicle segment and looked at all trucks with manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP or Sticker Price) plus destination fee. Keep in mind, the prices listed on the list before are before any manufacturer rebates or incentives and how much the dealer is willing to discount the price.
The 2016 Nissan Frontier S King Cab is the cheapest new pickup truck you can buy in America for 2016. The Frontier enters the marketplace at an MSRP of $19,190. It’s equipped with a four-cylinder engine mated to a manual transmission and will tow 3,500 lbs and haul almost half a ton of cargo. If you’re not wanting a base model Frontier, you can get a 6-cylinder, automatic, 4×4, crew cab frontier with tons of bells-and-whistles for under the $30,000 budget.

Do New Car Price Research Online Beforehand
When negotiating a new car’s price, it’s important to know the dealer invoice price and what other people are paying for the same vehicle in your local area. Otherwise, you won’t know what’s a good price to pay for the car.
As always, I highly recommend using an online referral service such as Ryde Shopper or Motor Trend, their quotes will automatically include any discounts or cash-back incentives currently available in the marketplace.
