Top 15 Best-Selling Hybrid Cars in America for 2015

When it comes to hybrid car sales, Toyota controlled 75.85 percent of the market in 2015 with the Toyota Prius Liftback being America’s number one best-selling hybrid vehicle last year.

American’s bought an average of 9,485.75 Prius Lift-backs every month last year for a total of 113,829 for 2015. This number falls short of 2014’s total number of 122,776.

With how fuel costs have been dropping in 2015, automakers are happy with seeing only a -7.3 percent drop in sales from the previous year.

Toyota and Lexus (Toyota’s luxury line) own eight of the fifteen spots on the list. The top four spots on the list all belong to Toyota. The Ford Fusion Hybrid dropped from fourth to fifth place in 2015. Ford sold 24,681 hybrids last year. They came in -30.3 percent behind 2014’s number of 35,405. Surprisingly the Honda Accord Hybrid came in at 12th place selling only 11,065 units for the year.

Competition Between Dealers Always Gets You the Best Price

When negotiating the price of a new hybrid vehicle, it’s important to know the dealer invoice price and what other people are paying for the same vehicle in your local area. Otherwise, you won’t know what’s a good price to pay for the vehicle.

I highly recommend using an online referral service such as Ryde Shopper or Motor Trend, their quotes will automatically include any discounts or cash-back incentives currently available in the marketplace.
