There are a lot of vehicle award programs out there and each one serves it’s own purpose. Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy Awards program not only helps new car shoppers find and identify a great car. They also help buyers find the vehicle that provides the best value for the money.
Each year, the experts at KBB conduct extensive tests on all the vehicles that qualify for the prestigious award. Data such as ownership costs, test drives, consumer reviews, comparison pricing and expert evaluations all contribute to the ratings process. After this process, only one vehicle in each category can hold the title.
The winner of the 2016 Overall Best Buy Award and the 2016 small car category goes to the tenth-generation 2016 Honda Civic. The Civic has launched itself well ahead of the competition with its turbocharged engine, attention to detail, high quality interior materials and near-perfect drive train. KBB even put in writing, “the Civic has raised the bar for compact cars in general to a new level.”
The Civic was last year’s winner in the small car category also and lost the overall category to the 2015 Ford F-150 pickup. The 2016 Ford F-150 wins the best buy award in the pickup truck category this year with it’s all aluminum body. Offering the best-in-class towing, fuel economy (among gasoline-powered trucks), and payload. The F-150 is the truck to beat, now winning the best buy award in the truck segment two years in a row.
