Statements such as, “Fast sports cars” and “great gas mileage” are not usually used in the same sentence when it comes to describing a high performance vehicle.
In the past if you wanted to drive a quick car, it meant you had to give up good fuel economy to do so. With advances in fuel and engine technology, cars such as the Alfa Romeo 4C allow you to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (MPH) in 5.3 seconds and still get a combined 28 miles per gallon (MPG).
Forbes recently did a study to find the top fifteen fastest sports cars with the best rated fuel economy. They first looked at each vehicles zero to sixty time and then crosschecked it with its stated MPG from the Environmental Protection Agency’s posted fuel economy ratings. All the sports cars below have a minimum combined miles per gallon of 20 MPG or higher.
The quickest car on the list is in Porsche 911 Turbo S. The 3.8 liter 560 horsepower twin turbo H-6 engine can sling-shot the 911 from zero-to-sixty miles per hour in 3.5 seconds flat. You can own a Porsche 911 Turbo S for the mere price of $182,700 making it a car you don’t see on the road every day.
Before Buying a Sports Car From a Dealership
When negotiating a new car’s price, it’s important to know the dealer invoice price and what other people are paying for the same vehicle in your local area. Otherwise, you won’t know what’s a good price to pay for the vehicle. I highly recommend using an online referral service such as Ryde Shopper or Motor Trend, their quotes will automatically include any discounts or cash-back incentives currently available in the marketplace.
