If you’re the kind of new car shopper that likes to get from point A to point B as quick as possible, but can’t afford the price tag of an exotic vehicle. You may not get there as quick as if you were driving a Ferrari or Lamborghini, but zero-to-sixty times of less than eight seconds for under $25,000 is not a bad deal at all.

Car and Driver recently sifted through their huge database of vehicles to come up with the top 10 quickest 2015 model year vehicles under twenty five thousand dollars. They found some interesting results and some of the vehicles on the list just might surprise you. To qualify for the list the vehicles are brand new, model year 2015, and must have a base price of $25,000 or less before destination charge.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata Eco 1.6L Dual-Clutch Automatic takes the number one spot on the quickest list. With a base manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) of $24,100, it’s 1.6-liter turbo four cylinder and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission pumps out 178 HP to give it a short 6.7 second time to sixty miles-per-hour. Hyundai has done a great job blending value, comfort, performance, while using quality materials to build the Sonata Eco possibly making it the best Hyundai Sonata to date.

Volkswagen has three spots in the top ten with the 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI Automatic 5-Door with a zero-to-sixty time of 7.8 seconds, it’s the only diesel on the list. The other two vehicles on the list by VW are the Golf 1.8L TSI Automatic 5-Door (7.7 seconds), and the Golf TSI 1.8L Manual 5-Door (6.8 seconds).

An unexpected vehicle to make the list is the tiny 2015 Honda Fit 1.5L Manual. It’s 1.5 liter engine (up 14 HP with its redesign) brought it in at number five on the list with a zero-to-sixty time of 7.7 seconds.

If you’re in the market for a compact SUV/crossover that can get you where you’re going quick. You may want to consider the 2015 Honda CR-V FWD (7.5 seconds) or even faster, 2015 Nissan Juke AWD (6.9 seconds). These two car-based vehicles offer pretty much everything today’s new car shopper needs in an urban family vehicle, with an added touch of performance.
