New car coupes combine a couple things most drivers desire, the first one is “miles-per-gallon.” Most two door vehicles tend to get the best gas mileage and are the most fuel efficient of all the vehicle choices out there.
The second is the sportier and much better performer than most of their four door counterparts. Driving a coupe just takes you back to your younger years, before kids and the worries of everyday life.
Our friends at Edmunds.com took a look at the top 10 most fuel efficient vehicles available in 2015 (they ended up with 12 on the list due to ties). They based the ranking of the vehicle by the Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) combined fuel economy rating. The EPA is calculated by the following formula: 55% of the city mpg rating + 45% of the highway mpg rating.
They excluded electric vehicles from the list due to limited charging stations and lack of range make them undesirable to many people. When car shopping, most people don’t compare them with vehicles equipped with regular gasoline engines.
