Fastest & Slowest Selling Cars in February 2015
Consumers love change and this list proves it. Over half of the fastest selling cars in February either had some kind of major redesign from the previous year or are new to the market altogether.
These vehicles on the fastest selling list averaged only 15 days on a dealer's lot before they sold while the national average for new cars was 47 days.
Land Rover took two of the top three spots with its 2015 Land Rover Range Rover lasting only 11 days on a dealer's lot and the Range Rover Sport sticking around for 12 days.
The 2015 Subaru Outback, gaining in popularity, was number two. You had to act quick if you wanted one, they only lasted for 11 days.
SUV's and pick-up trucks are still top sellers in the market place and expect to even become more popular with the economy improving. There are over 15 of them on the list. Ford and Chevy both had two versions on the list with their redesigned F150 and Colorado models.
Kia had a rough month topping the slowest selling list with the 2015 Kia K900 at 159 days. Out of the ten slowest selling cars, BMW models hold four of the spots.
BMW and Kia make great vehicles and I personally like both of the brands. The reason these vehicles may have been passed over is because there wasn't any large rebates or incentives to entice consumers to purchase one.
The below list is not a "days in inventory" list like you may normally find on the internet. Our friends at Cars.com used their resources to compile their extensive data by taking the time a dealer received a particular model to the time a customer signed the paperwork and took delivery of the vehicle. They do not take in account limited edition vehicles or high performance vehicles, anything that will skew the numbers. For the slowest sellers, there is no such filters.

Between the Lines
What these lists will tell you is a dealer may be less likely to discount a vehicle that's popular or in high demand. They know they don't have to because the vehicle is most likely going to sell within about 15 days.
On the other hand, the vehicles on the slow selling list are costing dealers money sitting on their lots for an average of 3 months or more. Dealers will be more likely to do "whatever-it-takes" to move those vehicles to make room for more.
Fact is, you never know what a dealer will do to sell a car. I recommend using an online company such as CarClearanceDeals and Edmunds to request free no-obligation price quotes.
These companies will let you know what others are paying for the vehicle you're considering, and also what dealers in your local area are more willing to discount the vehicle for you.
