2016 Land Rover Range Rover MSRP From: $83,495

If you're in need of a vehicle that can haul a family of eight or more people, with all the cargo that goes with them. You should take a look at our list.

This category is split between large crossovers that provide you with a comfortable quiet ride and truck based vehicles with large hauling and towing capabilities. No matter what kind of large sport utility vehicle (SUV) you're looking for, there's something on this list for everyone.

Autobytel did a little research and found eleven of the best full size large SUVs for families that can carry a lot of passengers, haul a lot of cargo, tow an oversized load or do a combination of all three. When it comes to moving a bunch of "people and/or stuff," these vehicles are the cream of the crop.

The highly sought after 2016 Land Rover Range Rover is the most expensive large family SUV on the list. An entry level price of $83,495 provides you with one of the most luxurious SUVs within its category. Equipped with a solid 3.0 liter V-6 that produces 340 horsepower and 332 ft-lbs of torque or you can opt for the supercharged V-8 5.0 liter that pumps out a whopping 510 horsepower and 461 ft-lbs of torque. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Land Rover's four-wheel-drive system is standard. If you'll need to tow something with your Range Rover, the max tow rating is just over 7,700 pounds.

The cheapest entry level priced large SUV on the list is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse. The Travers and Its siblings, the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave all give you the people and cargo carrying ability of the largest of the large family SUV models. The Traverse acts more like a car than a big truck-like SUV, it does that without losing any passenger seating or cargo capacity.

The Chevrolet Traverse is equipped with a 3.6 liter V-6 offering 281 horsepower and 266 ft-lbs of torque. The front wheels are powered by a six-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel-drive is an additional option. The Traverse has excellent crash test scores, a quiet interior, and a very smooth ride. Make sure you at least take a look at this vehicle if you're in the market for a large family mover, the Traverse starts at $31,205.

Before Buying a New Muscle Car Do Research Online First

Before buying a new SUV, it’s important to know the dealer invoice price and what other people are paying for the same vehicle in your local area. Otherwise, you won’t know what's a good price to pay for the car.

As always, I highly recommend using an online referral service such as Edmunds Price Promise or TrueCar No Haggle Pricing, their quotes will automatically include any discounts or cash-back incentives currently available in the marketplace.
