August is a great time to buy a used car. Most automakers are offering some great low interest used car financing to help entice used car shoppers to get out and buy.
It doesn't matter if you're looking for a new car, truck, minivan or SUV the manufacturers have something for you to take advantage of. The only "catch" to these offers is the automaker wants to make sure you're buying a reliable and dependable car. So many of these offers are only available on certified pre-owned models (CPO).
Keep in mind, shopping for a used car is a little different than shopping for a new one. Used car prices vary depending on the mileage, condition, demand and location of the vehicle. You should always do your research on a particular used car before contacting a dealership. Very little has changed from July concerning low interest financing by the manufacturers, due to the high demand and popularity for used cars, many have just extended the used car deals already in place from the previous month.
Audi is still offering 1.9 percent financing for sixty-six months on all of their 2012, 2013 and 2015 CPO models, they've extended the offer until September 1, 2015. Chevrolet and Buick also extended their 1.9 percent deals until the last day of August. Chevy's offer is for the CPO Malibu and Equinox, Buick's deal is on the CPO Verano and LaCrosse.
Mercedes-Benz increased their used car deal on select CPO models from 2.99 percent to 3.49 percent for up to 72 months for the month of August. Along with the low interest financing, you can also get an additional single payment credit on CPO C-Class and E-Class models. Nissan is offering 0.9 percent for 36 months on any 2012 - 2015 CPO Model OR opt for $500 cash back on Rogue, Maxima, Altima, Sentra, Leaf and Titan.

NOTE: When buying a used car you must do two things, first you want to check the used car's title history using a service such as AutoCheck. This protects you by making sure the vehicle has not been in a severe accident or has a branded title. If the title shows to be clean, the second thing is always have the vehicle inspected by an independent certified mechanic before signing on the dotted line. There may be a small additional cost, but will greatly reduce the chances of you buying someone else's problems and costing you a lot more money later down the road.
When negotiating a used car's price, it's important to have a good estimate of what the dealer's cost is for the vehicle and what other people are paying for the same used car in your local area. Otherwise, you won't know what's a good price to pay for the vehicle. I highly recommend using an online referral service such as CarClearanceDeals or Edmunds to do your used car research and request a free used car quote.
The information you receive from these sites, will tell you what the vehicle you're considering is going for and will also tell you which dealerships in your local area are currently the most flexible with their used car pricing.
