Compact SUVs have become very popular with new car shoppers. They provide people with a great combination of versatility, comfort, high seating, visibility, and fuel efficiency. If you're in the market for one of these highly sought after SUVs and occasionally tow, or tow something on a daily basis. It's important to know upfront if the vehicle you're considering can pull the weight of the item you want to tow easily and safely.
Although most of the heavier towing capabilities belong to larger full size trucks. Trucks are not very fuel efficient and sometimes size makes them hard to drive and not very practical for some people's everyday life.
A proper tow vehicle will be rated for more than the weight of the item you want to tow. For example, you're boat weighs 1500lbs, you will want a vehicle with a tow capacity of at the very minimum of 1500lbs. Of course, a vehicle with a 3000lb towing capacity will be able to pull your boat much easier than a vehicle rated for only 1500lbs.
